KDM Hire Ltd. is one of Northern Ireland’s leading rental companies. With a significant increase in our fleet of hire equipment, we now have a number of exciting Apprenticeship opportunities to join our team in our Cookstown depot.
We can offer you a:
- Vehicle Mechanic Apprenticeship – get trained to service, maintain, diagnose and repair our extensive fleet of LGV and HGV’s while also enhancing your mechanical and electrical skills.
- Electrical Engineer Apprenticeship – get trained to service, diagnose and repair our extensive fleet of generators, electrical distribution equipment, electronic programmers, transformers and change over systems with the opportunity to enhance your skills on a variety of plant and powered access equipment.
- Plant or Powered Access Fitter Apprenticeship – get trained to service, diagnose and repair our modern fleet of plant hire equipment and/or scissor and boom lifts, both diesel and electric.

To join our progressive, stable, and growing Company you’ll need to have applied to be accepted on to one of these courses at the South West College, Dungannon or Omagh Campus:
Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Work-Based Land-Based Engineering
Level 3 in Electrotechnical Technology
We ask that you have 5 GCSE’s including English or Maths or the equivalent qualifications, e.g., Essential Skills.

If you are successful, we will offer you a conditional offer of employment pending the confirmation of your place on one of the above college courses. You can start straight away and then attend College on day release when your course starts in September!
