CAUSEWAY COAST WELCOMES BACK THE 148TH OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP
Golfing fans from all over the globe are expected to descend upon the Royal Portrush Golf Club (RPGC) on the 18th-21st July to watch the world’s greatest golfers compete for the famous Claret Jug. The Open was last hosted on Portrush’s renowned links nearly 70 years ago in 1951.
Honoured to be helping arguably one of the biggest events ever on the island of Ireland, KDM has been busy supplying over 130 office cabins to the media centre which will house close to 2000 TV and media personnel, who will transmit to over 600 million people worldwide during the event.
A quantity of mains toilet blocks and showers have also been provided along with powered access equipment and telehandlers with grass tyres for the erection of grandstands and hospitality units.
Much work has been undertaken to the course as part of the preparations for this prestigious event including two new holes designed by architect Martin Ebert and the introduction of 6 new tee boxes.
Homegrown talents such as Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy and Darren Clarke will be increasingly eager to bring home the Claret Jug on Sunday 21st on their home turf.
